The Betwun guide
How head-to-head prediction bets work
On Betwun, a head-to-head prediction starts with a question and resolution rules written by its creator. One person backs YES, an opponent backs NO, and each puts up the same stake.
One question, two sides, equal stakes
The creator writes the question, chooses a side, sets the acceptance deadline and resolution time, and commits a stake. One opponent can accept the opposite side by matching that amount. Creating the bet reserves the creator’s stake; accepting reserves the opponent’s stake.
For example, a $10 YES bet needs a $10 NO opponent. Once matched, the head-to-head pot is $20. Neither participant can change the agreed conditions or sides after creation.
Read the conditions before accepting
A headline is only a summary. Check the full conditions for the source, threshold, observation period and resolution time. A prediction about a recorded daily temperature is different from one about a forecast or a ‘feels like’ reading.
The acceptance deadline tells you when entry closes. The resolution time tells you when the outcome can be evaluated. They serve different purposes, so check both.
What happens to the stake?
The winner receives both head-to-head stakes minus any profit fee stored on the bet. With the current 5% profit fee, winning a $10 versus $10 bet returns $19.50, including the winner’s original $10. Losing returns none of that stake.
An unmatched bet can be cancelled by its creator. Unmatched expired bets return the reserved stake. A void outcome refunds both participants rather than declaring a winner.
Evidence and a chance to challenge
AI proposes a result using evidence. A proposed verdict has a 24-hour challenge window while funds remain held. A participant can dispute the result during that window; a disputed bet requires human review before settlement.
